If FonesGo shows an error code during use, follow the instructions to identify the cause and restore the recovery process.

Error Code: -2, -10, -19, -20, -21, -30, -31, -32, -38, -41, -105, 1, 19, 1003, 1005, or 1015

  1. Step 1: Make sure both iTunes and FonesGo are updated to their latest versions.
  2. Step 2: Do not disconnect the iOS device while iTunes is creating the backup; keep the connection stable until the process ends.
  3. Step 3: Open iTunes and back up the connected device.

IMPORTANT: Back Up Your Existing iTunes Backups First

  • Before creating a new backup, move any existing iTunes backup files to another folder so the new backup does not overwrite them.
  • Default iTunes backup location on Windows:
    C:/Users/User name/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/MobileSync/Backup/{a folder named with letters and numbers}
Replace “YourUsername” with your actual Windows login username.
  • The more data stored on your device, the longer the backup will take. Be sure to allow enough time for iTunes to finish.
  1. Step 4: Once iTunes finishes, quit the app and launch FonesGo. Choose Recover from iTunes backup, select the backup you just made, and start the scan. FonesGo will list the deleted and lost files found after the scan completes.
  2. Step 5: If the error code still appears after you have completed all of the above steps, please reach out to our technical support team with the error details so we can help you troubleshoot further.
note Note
The same workflow may also resolve other five-digit error codes.

Error Code: -100, -104

  1. Step 1 Make sure FonesGo has administrator access. You can either log in to Windows with an administrator account, or grant FonesGo permission to write to the necessary folders.
  2. How to Run the Program as an Administrator

    1. Find the FonesGo on your computer.
    2. Select Run as administrator.
  3. Step 2 Check the disk where the backup will be saved and make sure it has enough free space. You need at least 100 MB more free space than the amount of data stored on your device. If the disk does not have enough room, free up space or switch to a different disk.
  4. Step 3 If the error still occurs after completing the steps above, please contact our technical support team for further assistance.

Error Code: -205

Before FonesGo starts a full backup, temporarily turn off your antivirus program.

note Note
If the error remains after completing these steps, contact our technical support team.

To temporarily disable Windows Defender on Windows 10:

  • From the Start menu, click the gear icon to launch Settings.
  • Choose Update & Security.
  • Select the Windows Security tab and click Open Windows Security.
  • Open Virus & threat protection, then go to Manage settings.
  • Find Real-time protection under Virus & threat protection settings, and move the switch to Off.
  • Approve the change when Windows asks for confirmation. Because real-time protection helps secure your device, turn it back on after the backup is finished.
